A quirky week indeed, with an owl versus grill encounter, power line fireworks, and combative joggers dominating the scene. Some notable arrests include Mr. Anthony, a suspected fugitive, and Ms. Howes, caught cruisin’ tipsy with an open container. Not to mention the local enigma of a road rug, a barking dog complaint, and a car inexplicably nosediving into to a marsh!

Arrests

  • On December 12, Michael Anthony of Millbury was arrested on charges of:
    • Fugitive from justice on Governor’s Warrant
    • Default warrant arrest
  • On December 15, Taylor Howes of Northbridge was arrested on charges of:
    • Operating under the influence
    • Possession of open container

December 11

  • Caller reported water flowing into Cedar St. DPW was advised and checked it out.
  • Man reported his gate was possibly vandalized. Officer Saletnik checked it out and it appeared to be from a storm and not vandalism.
  • A dead cat on the side of Legacy Farms N was reported. Animal control responded.
  • Officer McNeil assisted in pulling an owl out of the grill of a car after the operator drove to the department requesting help when they hit it.

December 12

  • Officer Walker checked on a dump truck pulling a trailer that was stopped on the side of the road. The vehicle had two flat tires but was not creating a hazard in the roadway.
  • 911 caller reported an accident between two cars on South St. There were no injuries.
  • Walk in requested to speak with an officer about a prior fraud incident.
  • Man reports someone repeatedly calling his and his wife’s phone.

December 13

  • Animal control responded to a report of a dead deer on East Main St. They were unable to located it however.
  • Multiple calls reported the traffic light by Grove St was not working.
  • Caller reported a vehicle in his driveway that should not be there. No one was supposed to be home.
  • A dog on the loose was seen on School St.
  • Officer Grimley and Normandin responded to a report of something in the roadway by West Main St. The object was making it difficult for cars to pass.
  • Milford requested Hopkinton PD make contact with a party.
  • 911 caller reported her stove was on fire.
  • Multiple 911 calls reported a transformer explosion. There was no fire and Eversource responded. The power lines were removed from the road and energy was restored.

December 14

  • Man reported a jogger elbowed him while he was walking on the trail going hunting.
  • Officers Normandin and O’Neil assist a child trying to get into his house and no one answering the door. There was an issue with the key, but the child got inside.
  • Caller reported his family member that lives in town was harassing him.

December 15

  • Officers Buentello and Schofield checked on a vehicle parked in Blueberry Ln. Occupants were unresponsive at first.
  • Man called police when he got home and noticed his kitchen window was open. Out of concern someone was in the house, officers checked interior and exterior and nothing was suspicious.
  • Caller reported her concern for an elderly male that was by himself. He seemed unsteady on his feet and was trying to cross the road. Officers checked on him and his health appeared well.
  • 911 caller reported a homeowner was yelling at him while making his deliveries. The delivery man said this was the second time it has happened.
  • Several officers responded to a roll over crash on School St. No injuries were reported.
  • Woman walked in reporting a threat she received in the mail.

December 16

  • Caller reported a rug in the roadway. The rug was removed.
  • Officer Walker followed up with a report of a Golden Pond bus driver not wearing their seatbelt. The staff will be informed.

December 17

  • Caller reported a dog barking for several days. The downstairs neighbor was letting the dog out once a day and the dog ripped through the screen. The report will be forwarded to animal control.
  • 911 caller reported a vehicle possibly in the water. Officers responded and found the vehicle in the marsh next to the water but not in it. Teds responded to tow it out.
