One arrest occurred last week, as well as several reports of suspicious people and large rocks in the road.
Arrests
- On February 5, Horacio Lopez Da Silva Filho of Lynn was arrested on the charges of:
- Operating under the influence – liquor
February 5
- Officer Ekross checked on a vehicle on Main St with their hazards on. The operator was okay, they were just making a delivery.
- A vehicle was in need of a tow on Elm St.
- Caller reported a large chock rock in the roadway causing a hazard on West Main St. Officer Ziniti responded and removed the rock.
- Officer Buentello assisted the fire department with an alarm activation on Granite St.
February 6
- The state police were notified of glass on a highway ramp off of West Main St.
- Officer Saletnik spoke with a driver of a speeding vehicle on Main St. The driver was issued a warning and informed about his erratic operation.
- Woman called reported her dog escaped its leash by Pratt Way. The dog was described as a black lab and has a name ID if someone were to find it. Eventually, someone located the dog and animal control responded to get the dog on a leash while the owner arrived.
February 7
- A caller reported an erratic driver on 135 heading east. Officer Schofield responded.
- Officer Ziniti checked on a vehicle on Legacy Farms N that ran out of gas. The driver informed Ziniti a family member was on the way with gas.
- Officer Santoro assisted a student that hit a parked car on Hayden Rowe St.
- Units assisted a party with a retrieving items from her home on Cubs Path.
- Caller reported they got into a fight with their cousin and would like the advice of an officer.
February 8
- Homeowner stated that their tenants received a letter requesting some money back from an unknown party. The tenants wished to speak with an officer.
- Officers were unable to locate a brown boxer puppy on Granite St after receiving a report it was in the middle of the road.
- Caller reported a dead raccoon behind Center School that was possibly killed and skinned with a knife.
- Man wished to speak with an officer regarding a person trying to cash out some money in town from his bank account.
- Walk-in turned in a lost wallet and checkbook.
February 9
- Officers Burchard and McKeon assisted the fire department at Commonwealth Ave.
- Caller reported a truck parked on the sidewalk of Grove St. Officer McKeon spoke the owner, who moved it to the driveway.
- Caller reported a large rock in the middle of Lumber St.
- Officer Brooks helped return a found license plate to its owner.
- Walk-in reported identity theft. A report was taken.
- 911 caller reported a hit and run on 495 N. State police responded.
February 10
- Caller reported two teenagers in her house on Lumber St. Officers Grimley, Staback, and Schofield responded. The incident ended up being a miscommunication between the homeowner and her daughter who forgot to tell her mom she was having people over.
- 911 caller reported a car vs. tree accident on Ash St.
- Man called saying he was bring chased by dogs on Wilson St. Officers were unable to make contact with the owners.
- Officer Ekross issued a parking ticket to a suspicious car on Cedar St that was parked in a prohibited area.
February 11
- Business owner reported he was unable to keep his gas on. The fire department responded.
- Walk-in turned in a wallet found in the cemetery.
- A man walked in reporting his mother was involved in cyber fraud.
- Woman reported a man and woman’s voice coming from behind her house. She thought she heard one of them say “I am going to kill you”. Several officers responded and decided everything seemed to be okay.
- Officers LaTour and Ziniti took report of a dead deer in the middle of Cedar St.
