Newly appointed Fire Chief Gary Daugherty, Jr. threw a curveball at his team today with a surprise ice rescue training session.
He tossed a dummy onto the surface of Icehouse Pond and called the incident in. His firefighters responded quickly and affected the rescue. While they were there, the Chief took the opportunity to train two younger firefighters on using the “banana boat” for rescue operations.
