In this episode, HopNews Editor-in-Chief Peter Thomas is joined by friend of the pod Jim Scanlon, who many readers will recognize from his frequent comments on various news stories in Hopkinton.

Jim and Peter discuss Lori Nickerson’s appointment to the School Committee, the ongoing legal challenges of Petros “Peter” Sismanis, the Fruit Street bridge, and the idea of allowing Hopkinton town employees to enroll their children in Hopkinton schools.
In addition, the pair share the history of former town fire chief Joe Pyne and discuss his incredible legacy. Listeners will also hear a firsthand account of the tragic fire that led to Chief Pyne’s death, as told by his son, Jim Pyne.
