Over the weekend, a team of Hopkinton students won the Southern New England Scholastic Table Tennis tournament. Neil Bhardwaj, Anay Bhardwaj, and Adelaide Luter were undefeated for the day, topping Hillside School in the Semifinals and Hendricken Academy in the Final.

The event was the second multi-school Winter meet held at Rhode Island Table Tennis (in Manville, RI).  This Winter, 12 schools have participated in these table tennis events from MA, RI, and CT, with Hopkinton and Hendricken Academy (RI) each finishing 10-1, Lincoln Middle School (RI) finishing in third at 6-3, and Hillside School (MA) finishing 5-4 in fourth.

RI Table Tennis is located in Manville, RI  (www.ritta.org).  The Winter School Meets were named the 2024 Southern New England Scholastic Table Tennis Invitationals.  There were two phases (Hopkinton finished second in the earlier event and first in the final event).  Hendricken Academy (Warwick RI) was the host and entered two teams.  Lincoln (RI) had a High School team, two Middle School teams, and an Elementary School team.  Hillside School (in Marlborough, MA) entered two teams.  Lasalle Academy (RI), Grafton High School (MA), and Woodstock Academy (CT) each entered a team as well.

Neil Bhardwaj competed in both events, and was the only player in the Invitationals not to lose a singles match.
