BUCKLAND – On Friday, February 27, 2026, Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) Commissioner Ashley Randle will be joined by state elected officials. In addition, members of the Massachusetts Maple Producers Association will also participate in the annual Massachusetts Maple Month Kick-Off Event.
The event will feature a ceremonial tapping of a maple tree to usher in another maple sugaring season. This will also mark the start of a new agricultural year.
To mark the occasion, Governor Maura Healey has declared the month of March as “Massachusetts Maple Month.” She encourages people across Massachusetts to visit their local maple sugar farms for tours or homemade breakfasts. Additionally, residents are encouraged to purchase maple syrup and other maple sugar products.
