The Hopkinton Republican Town Committee (RTC) met on February 7 for a caucus to select delegates for the 2026 Massachusetts Republican State Convention. More than 30 local residents stepped up, either volunteering or being nominated by others. As a result, the committee selected 20 delegates from that group.
The 2026 state convention happens on April 25 at the DCU Center in Worcester. Delegates from across Massachusetts will meet in person, conduct party business, and cast their votes. Moreover, they’ll decide which Republican candidates get the party’s official endorsement for statewide offices—governor, U.S. senator, and others. These are the ones who will appear on the Republican primary ballot.
Massachusetts holds its Republican primary on September 1, 2026. That’s when voters choose their nominees for statewide and legislative seats. Jim Mirabile, who chairs the Hopkinton RTC, said he was glad to see so many people eager to serve as delegates. Additionally, he explained that the process ensured that all 20 delegates were genuinely excited to attend the state convention and work together as a team.
