In 2020, Crosspoint Associates had 4,346 square feet taken by the Town of Hopkinton for the Main Street construction project. Initially agreeing to donate the land, Crosspoint later demanded compensation.

In August 2022, they received $381,300 or $87.73 per square foot. But Crosspoint was far from the only abutter to receive compensation; more than $1.5mm was paid to 72 affected property owners.

Crosspoint, unhappy with the payout, filed a complaint against the town, alleging inadequate compensation and deprivation of ownership and property use value. This issue continues under legal scrutiny.
